Supervision

Laptop with stickers

I am immensely proud and excited to have reached a point in my therapeutic career where I can share the compassionate, collaborative, supportive and safe space I create for my clients with supervisees of all stages and backgrounds.

Maintaining the core values of my therapeutic practice – self-acceptance, self-compassion, authenticity and intersectionality (more about why I believe so fiercely in these pillars on this page) – I collaborate with supervisees to build a reflective and empowering container to explore your clinical practice with structure, safety, guidance and support.

Approach

My certificate in counselling supervision is from a training provider that focuses on justice-informed and anti-oppressive practice, meaning these principles are deeply embedded into my supervisory work.

I am especially passionate about collaborating with supervisees to explore how they can develop their practice to become: more anti-racist; more culturally-attuned and culturally-sensitive; more inclusive and understanding of neurodivergence and disability; more inclusive and understanding of queerness in all its glorious forms, including relating to gender, (a)sexuality, kink and relationship diversity; and more reflective around the intersections of all of the above.

The 7-Eyed Model

Together, we’ll use Hawkins & Shohet’s 7-Eyed Model as a framework for exploring your work.

This could include: identifying and reflecting on challenges or ethical issues; exploring the client’s context and the systems and communities they might be part of; building strategies for practitioner resilience; and assessing areas for future development, including working towards accreditation or other professional goals.

During my supervisory training, my research focus was on methodologies and approaches for queering the 7-eyed model of clinical supervision, building on the work of Rima Hawkins & Silva Neves to apply the original framework developed by Hawkins & Shohet in a more expansive and inclusive way. Post-qualification, I am continuing to explore, expand and deepen my own practice of queering the 7-eyed model with my supervisees.

Other Elements

A current area of learning and exploration in my supervisory practice is applying the principles of feminist supervision.

This includes: exploring how to acknowledge and reduce power imbalances in the supervisory relationship; applying a strengths-based, trauma-informed approach; committing to exploring social and cultural contexts such as race, gender and class; and focusing on collaboration and empowering my supervisees.

Given the current climate of transphobia and transphobic legislation and violence in the UK and beyond, I am especially committed to supporting my trans siblings on their practitioner journeys, and to providing a space that explicitly acknowledges the grief, loss, anger, fear and overwhelm that may be present in therapeutic work at this time, along with the higher risks of burnout and vicarious trauma involved in holding space for clients from this community.

What now?

In the first instance, I offer a free half-hour phone or web consultation so we can start to get to know each other and see if we might be the right fit. To book yours, please get in touch via the contact page.

I have capacity for new supervisees from January 2026, with sessions taking place face-to-face in Stockport (Mondays/Thursdays) or online (Tuesdays/Wednesdays).

Supervision fees are currently £105 per 90-minute session, or £140 per 2-hour session.

Feedback + Testimonials

Feedback from current and former supervisees:

“In the past, I have often dreaded my supervision sessions, but I look forward to my sessions with Jae, they are the perfect example of what a supervisor should be. There is no power play with Jae and you can sense that they truly want to guide and support you to grow both professionally and personally.”

“I have had a few supervisors and my relationship with Jae felt the most authentic and easy- going. I felt comfortable from the outset and was able to bring my authentic self to the space.”

“Jae truly prioritised my needs and gave me the space to bring my needs…I now know how supervision SHOULD be.”

I am so grateful for the guidance and skills Jane gave me and I'm ending our sessions feeling so strong. I've come so far and feel much happier and more resilient: Jane does amazing work that has truly changed my life.

An absolute godsend! I can't thank you enough for all your support over the last weeks. This experience will stay with me for life: a safe, non-judgemental environment where I was able to work through some very difficult stuff with an insightful and extremely helpful human! Jane is very respectful, easy to trust and talk to, and just very lovely. Immensely beneficial.

Therapy with Jane has been life-changing. To have this dialogue in a super queer-friendly safe space has been absolutely essential, and something I didn’t realise I needed so much.

Jane is open, intuitive, positive, sensitive, creative – everything I needed from this experience. I felt supported and heard throughout and ended this phase feeling empowered and excited to move on.
